ICT30115 – Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology



This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions and to achieve a degree of self-sufficiency as an advanced ICT user.

Persons working at this level will support information technology activities in the workplace across a wide range of ICT areas, including technical support, network administration, web technologies, software applications and digital media technologies.

When you gain this qualification, you may be able to work (under direct supervision or autonomously) as:
Roles within IT technical support including:
• Help Desk Officer
• Network Support Officer
• ICT Technician

Entry Requirements:
Successful completion of a Language Literacy and Numeracy assessment
Confirmation of residential status in Australia (not offered to student visa holders)

This course is self-paced and contains 805 nominal hours with an expectation of at least 10 hours a week study time for a maximum course duration of 18 months.

Correspondence

For each unit students are provided with access to electronic resources to assist them in gathering the evidence ready for assessment. You will have access to a trainer/assessor to provide support.

Blended/Classroom Delivery

You will be required to attend classes (schedule will be provided) for the delivery of training by a qualified trainer and assessor with the use of electronic resources to complete assessments.

Classes run for 17 weeks on a roll on roll off schedule. You will have access to a trainer/assessor to provide support.

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is assessment only and involves the assessment of previously unrecognised skills and knowledge an individual has achieved outside the formal education and training system in respect of a specific units or qualification. We look at past jobs, life experience, samples of work and any industry representative endorsements you may have and use methods to establish your competency against a national set of standards and offer qualification recognition or part of. This is not for everyone however, if you are currently working in the industry you are seeking recognition for, this may be an option for you. You will have 3 months to meet the requirements required to be deemed competent in the qualification, which will be discussed with your assessor.

Resources

You will need access to a computer and internet. Students can request paper base resources for a fee of $12 per unit (allow up to 6 working days for delivery).

Enrolment Procedure

1. Registration of interest/discussion with Training For Me Enrolment and Student Support Officer/contact form completed from the website.

2. Completion of LLN and any additional paperwork (direct debit form is paying by payment plan).

3. Interview with Enrolment and Student Support Officer in person or via the telephone.

4. Payment of invoices or a payment plan must be in place before training is commenced.
